“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
-Harriet Tubman
Harriet Tubman was born into slavery. After living in terrible conditions and being beaten by her masters, Tubman escaped and made 13 missions through which she rescued more than 70 slaves. She was the conductor of the Underground railroad and made sure that former slaves gained their freedom. Even when the Fugitive Slave Law was passed, she would help those affected by it to get to Canada, where they could not be returned to the slave owners. Harriet Tubman is an example of incredible strong women who dedicate their lives to making a difference. She refused to let injustice happen and for that, we feature her.
