“I think the girl who is able to earn her own living and pay her own way should be as happy as anybody on Earth. The sense of independence and security is very sweet.”
-Susan B. Anthony
Susan B. Anthony isn’t just an incredible woman, she spent her life fighting for other women. She created the Women’s State Temperance Society, National Woman’s Suffrage Association, and even co-founded a newspaper that reported on women’s rights. In 1878 she wrote the Amendment that became the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. Her last public words before her death were “Failure is impossible.” This woman never gave up. She showed the world why women are important and fought until her death to gain women the same rights as men.
