Model and actor Mauricio Amuy will receive a Humanitarian Award for his work with Central American Poor Children. The award will be presented during Cannes Red Carpet & Global Short Film Awards Festival at Gala in Cannes, France in front of the press and an audience of VIPs, fashion and film lovers. The event will take place in the Grand ballroom of the Carlton Intercontinental on May 21, 8pm.

Mr. Aquino believes Mauricio has created a perfect balance with his professional work and the nonprofit charity work he has been conducting on behalf of needy children in both Mexico and Costa Rica over the last seven years, as well as Mauricio’s extensive resume as a model and actor, including his film work with Mel Gibson, and modeling with Wilhelmina and other top agencies. From child molestation to near death experience due to diseases contracted while helping poor children in remote locations, Mauricio a deeply spiritual person has had to combat many misfortunes in his life, but survived all. Mauricio is doing a come back to the world of entertainment and a movie about his life ups and downs and struggles is in the plan to be filmed in Costa Rica in 2017.
As part of his event productions Mr. Aquino highlights a charity organization each year. This year he has chosen to benefit Fundación Mauricio Amuy/ Asociación Brazos de Amor (Arms of love) Costa Rica.
Part of the proceeds from a luxury items auction at the Cannes Red Carpet and Awards gala will be donated to Mauricio’s foundation to continue the good work with the children in Central America.
